On April 16, 2024, the FIA Japan board and member firms had the honor to host a luncheon session with CFTC Chairman Behnam during his visit to Japan.
After reflecting on the various changes are industry has gone through in recent years, leading to more resilient markets, CFTC introduced some of its areas of focus, including how to regulate trading originating from AI, cybersecurity and crypto asset regulations. The group also discussed other important topics, such as US customer access to Japanese derivatives markets, geopolitical risks and the further strengthening of the US/Japan relationship.
