FIA Japan held its 34th Annual General Meeting and reception at the Roppongi Hills Club on May 25. At the online/in-person “hybrid” meeting this year, the Business Plan and Budget for fiscal year 2022 were passed and approved by the members. New board members, including four new directors, were also approved (see a complete list here).
At the reception following the meeting, we welcomed and enjoyed cocktails and buffet with about 40 of our members and guests for the first time since the start of the pandemic in 2020.
After a welcome speech by FIAJ Chairman Clairmont, we celebrated the induction of Mr. Hiromi Yamaji, currently JPX Group COO and TSE CEO (former OSE CEO), into FIA’s Futures Hall of Fame this past March. FIA Senior Advisor and Coordinator Japan Yasuo Mogi handed a framed FIA Hall of Fame certificate to Mr. Yamaji.
This was followed by a gift presentation from FIA Japan to Mr. Mogi in commemoration of his many contributions to FIA Japan. This ceremony was originally planned when Mr. Mogi stepped down from the Chairmanship of FIAJ in 2020, but had been postponed due to the Covid restrictions. He still serves as an Advisor to both the Board and Executive Committee of FIAJ and we look forward to his continued active participation.
As restrictions continue to ease in Japan, FIAJ will look at restarting such physical events whenever possible for the benefit of our members and industry at large.
