In line with the Japanese Government’s announced policy to expand Japan’s role as an international finance hub, the Financial Services Agency (FSA) has launched a dedicated website earlier this year, which was recently enhanced. The “Japan as an International Financial Center” website offers a number of updates, links and informational materials covering new policies designed to help foreign asset managers and other financial institutions enter the Japanese market so that they may contribute to improve Japan’s financial and capital markets in tandem with local players.
These include various initiatives on simplified and speedy company registration, tax incentives/reforms (both corporate and individual), a one-stop Financial Market Entry Office with services in English, multi-facet livelihood support when moving to Japan (relaxation of residency status/visa applications, links to English-speaking real estate and medical facilities, international schools) etc.
FIA Japan applauds and fully supports all of these initiatives taken by the FSA.
